I'll do my best to keep this as concise as possible, however some of these rules are born of An Incident™ and therefore non-negotiable. Thanks in advance for reading through them!!Other than that, I'm Mel R. Keye (you can call me Mel.) I'm 30+ and Lita is the original product of my whacked out brain. I'm neurodivergent af (autism, ADHD) and have PTSD. These factors do influence my activity, which tends to hover around low/medium. The best way to interact with Lita and/or me is through ask memes, opens, and IMs. It may take me a bit on the response time depending on how many social spoons I have to work with, but pls I thrive on getting to know folks OOC and find it tends to make the IC stuff flow easier too.

Regarding formatting: My default formatting is small text, double spaced between words, with a small static icon. If legibility is an issue, just let me know and I will be more than happy to make adjustments!
Heavy formatting can be challenging for me to read. I have a hard time with erratic capitalization/bold/italics. Colored fonts in threads are also extremely hard on my eyes a lot of times. Fancy text in block writing is also a no go for me. Extreme spacing and walls of unbroken up paragraphs are intolerable as well. If you cannot accommodate a more simplistic formatting in these circumstances, I won't be able to RP with you.
As far as icons go, I'm good with anything from small static icons to gifs up to 250px wide. I won't be matching icon format unless it is to omit a graphic altogether. I am uncomfortable with icons that make eye contact with the camera. Please refrain from using them in our threads.
BIOGRAPHY
Nothing about Lita McKay's time alive could have suggested that she would be promptly thrust back into the living realm following her death. Even less of her life foretold that she would become a grim reaper, post-mortem..E A R L Y . L I F E :.
Her childhood was easy. Lita was born in San Francisco, California to Jack and Linda Donahue, two vintners that owned one of the most awarded Napa Valley wineries in the region. The home she grew up in was a Queen Anne Victorian in the Pacific Heights district and she attended Montessori schools through high school.Although she wanted for nothing, Lita's parents did their best to raise her to be respectful of others and exposed her to diverse communities from a young age in an effort to keep her from becoming spoiled.Their efforts were mostly effective, but Lita still fell in with a clique of popular mean girls as a teen. However, being the one with a natural talent for persuasion and leadership, it wasn't long before Lita was the Queen Bee who ruled with kindness. (Mostly. There were the occasional incidents where she wouldn't intervene when her "BFFs" decided to target someone, but she was also sixteen, worked weekends at the vineyard, and juggled several extra-curricular activities. Her reasoning was that she didn't have the time to babysit them and their every move.)Lita also had less in common with her friends than she led her peers to believe. After all, even in progressive San Francisco, it wasn't easy to be a closeted bisexual computer geek in the '90s. Being brought up to blend in with the elitism of the wine industry only led to Lita further suppressing herself outside of school as well. Often times, hiding behind her studies or escaping to the internet were the only spaces that Lita felt she could relax and not always have to be On Message™.It was in her online circles where Lita learned to hack in the early days common internet access. Her hacking skills would lead to her acceptance into Stanford University, though not through the most conventional (or legal) means. She'd managed to gain remote access to the dean of admissions computer by sending him a backdoor trojan as an attachment through a fraudulent email address. People weren't as wary of unfamiliar email addresses and attachments back in 1996, after all.Once she had access to his computer, Lita merely accepted herself into Stanford across all relevant documents and data. All that was needed next was for the dean's receptionist to print and send out the acceptance letters.

Lita was never caught for her hack and it would be the secret she would only tell her future husband and eldest daughter.During her attendance at Stanford, Lita majored in Software Engineering with a minor in cyber security. The fields were still in their infancy compared to where they would be nearly thirty years later, but Lita only knew that she wanted to make her passion a profession, and she wanted to be the best at it. Lita was well on her way to achieving that goal and genuinely earned every high grade and commendation she received, no hacking required.Her romantic life was sparse, dating only a couple of women or seeing people casually until she was twenty-one. That was when Lita met her would-be husband, Matthew. He was a guest lecturer in one of her network security classes and a Stanford alumnus.Lita had discovered a vulnerability in the network that even the school's actual IT team hadn't caught: for some reason, the HVAC system was networked and had no firewall protections assigned to it; it was a gaping hole and sheer luck that it hadn't been exploited yet.Her findings led to her and Matthew working together to resolve the issue right there in the class. After that class let out and the other students were gone, Lita made the first move of asking Matthew out. He hesitated at first; she was still an undergrad and he was several years older than her, but Lita managed to charm him into it and from that day on, they were inseparable.They got married a year later, much to the apprehension of both of their families. To the chagrin of anyone who doubted them, Lita and Matthew proved to be solid couple, especially as the years went on.At 23 and a year after getting married, Lita became pregnant with their first daughter, Stevie. The pregnancy wasn't planned, but they both wanted the baby. However, Lita's education and pursuit of her Master's degree was brought to a screeching halt. There was no way she could realistically juggle being a new mom with the demands of school, especially with Matthew working full time. That was when they agreed —at Lita's suggestion— that she would take time away from school until their daughter was also school aged.
